Welcome!

Valley Sanitary District is a California Special District governed by a locally elected Board of Directors. The District was founded in 1925 and is governed by the California Sanitary Act of 1923. Valley Sanitary District collects and treats wastewater for the District service area. 

The District believes in environmental stewardship and is regulated by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board — Colorado Region and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Valley Sanitary District serves and benefits Indio and the surrounding communities by collecting, treating, and recycling wastewater to ensure a healthy environment and sustainable water supply.
