COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTICE

Indio, CA — Valley Sanitary District (VSD) is actively monitoring guidelines from county, state,
and national public health officials regarding the novel COVID-19 virus. District staff are in
contact with the County of Riverside Emergency Management Department and its partner agencies to
coordinate the local response to current conditions.

“VSD’s primary responsibility is to ensure a healthy environment for Indio and the surrounding
communities by ensuring that wastewater is treated and discharged in a safe and responsible
manner,” said, Beverli Marshall, CSDM, General Manager. “At this time, we are focused on the health
of our employees and the public by minimizing any unnecessary contact while maintaining critical
services.”

Riverside County Public Health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, issued an Official Order
(https://rivcoph.org/Portals/0/Documents/CoronaVirus/SharpMFD_20200316.pdf) on March 16, 2020,
restricting public gatherings to no more than 10. Gatherings of 10 or fewer can continue if social
distancing (6 feet or more between attendees) can be maintained. In compliance with this Order, the
following changes have been made to VSD services and activities.

•    The dump pad is closed until further notice.

•    Lobby space at the VSD office is limited, so appointments are strongly encouraged for plan
reviews and permit processing. All others are encouraged to conduct business by telephone or mail.
The District can be contacted by calling 760-238-5400 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday.

•    Board of Director meetings will be via teleconference. The published agendas will include the
call-in number. Limited space is available for public attendance in the Board room, so members of the public are strongly encouraged to participate via
teleconference.

•    District tours and non-critical meetings have been cancelled until further notice.
