Indio, January 3, 2024 – Valley Sanitary District, a leading provider of wastewater services in the region, had the pleasure of hosting Shayra Hernandez, Director of Stakeholder Engagement from U.S. Representative Raul Ruiz’s Office, this morning.

The visit was an opportunity for the District to highlight ongoing efforts to improve services provided to the residents of Indio. The representative discussed funding opportunities relative to future projects at Valley Sanitary District.

Valley Sanitary District is embarking on opportunities to recycle and reuse highly treated wastewater for beneficial use. Using recycled water will improve local groundwater conditions, reduce imported water demands, and provide a local, drought-resistant supply.

Valley Sanitary District serves and benefits Indio and the surrounding communities by collecting and treating wastewater to ensure a healthy environment and sustainable future.
