Internship Program

A group of people stand near a sign about digesters that process sewage sludge, with industrial tanks in the background.

Valley Sanitary District’s Internship Program offers current students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wastewater industry and learn how essential public services protect public health and the environment. Interns will gain exposure to real-world operations, projects, and career pathways within the water and wastewater field while working alongside experienced professionals.

The program allows interns to work up to 1,000 hours, with a commitment of 15–20 hours per week. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. This is a valuable opportunity to explore a meaningful career path, develop practical skills, and contribute to services that support a safe, clean, and sustainable community.

Fill out the form below and either email it to Dayanna Ramirez, Human Resources Specialist at dramirez@valley-sanitary.org or drop it off in person at our Administration Building located at 45500 Van Buren Street, Indio, CA 92201.
