Born in Indio, California, and raised in Coachella, Ruben M. Vasquez is a proud
graduate of Coachella Valley High School. After attending College of the Desert, he
served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam veteran. Following his military service, he
built a successful 38-year career as a roofer and contractor, including owning and
operating his own roofing company for 20 years. A passionate fan of old cars and
karaoke, he enjoys spending his free time restoring classics and singing with
friends. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 56 years. Valley
Sanitary District marks the first board he has had the honor to serve on.
